"In 2003, I interned at a company called Countrywide Financial. My dad was the Vice President of Contracts, and he got me the job during my summer break from art school. My official duties didn't  entail any more than stapling contracts and filing them after giving them the appropriate stamp. I didn't take the job very seriously, and I had hours of free time on my hands every day.

Five years later, the stock market crashed. Countrywide was sold to Bank of America, and its nefarious business strategies, implemented by CEO Angelo Mozilo, made headlines. Countrywide approved thousands of unqualified lenders for substantial graduated sub-prime home loans they could never hope to pay off. As a result, these people lost their homes to foreclosure, and a deep pit opened under our feet."
